Ceridwen - Fife number 34 – recent developments by Richard and Hilary Date
In 2009 we purchased Fife No. 34 from Adrian Hughes and dragged her away for a ‘lick and polish’ before regattas in that year. She sailed as well as we could remember since1976 when she had last won regattas.
For 2010 we teamed up with Mark and Janey McGarry and decided to strip and re-fair the hull and to remove and redo the fittings. After many hours, mostly from Mark, Ceridwen was repainted and launched a week before regattas, 2010. We really enjoyed ourselves once we had got the hang of starting, and confirmed that we had probably improved boat speed (especially when we went in the right direction).
The McGarrys have now taken over completely and yet more improvements have been made for the 2011 season. We await the results with interest!.
