Ruth Roberts receives accolade for volunteer work
The Royal Anglesey Yacht Club, Beaumaris recently presented a bouquet of flowers to Miss Ruth Roberts from Penmon in recognition of her longstanding voluntary service to the club. Miss Roberts has been the Membership Secretary for the RAYC for over 22 years and a member of the club since 1957. The Royal Anglesey Yacht Club wanted to honour a member who has not only done a job that is essential to the smooth running of the club but executed it with the utmost professionalism and efficiency.
“When the management committee presented me with the flowers at the Annual General Meeting I was so surprised.” Said Miss Roberts, she went on to say.. “I have enjoyed doing this job for the past 22 years and will continue to serve and support the club in the years to come. I couldn't have done it though without the support of the Flag Officers, and the Committee who have all helped me immensely. The Royal Anglesey Yacht Club has fantastic people running things behind the scenes; the team work at the Club is something that we should be very proud of.”
Ruth's voluntary work does not stop at the Royal Anglesey Yacht Club; she is the Chair of the Llangoed and Penmon Community Council and Secretary to the Penmon Priory Church and to the Parochial Church Council of the Parish of Beaumaris.
