RAYC Members run the Flora London Marathon
Diana Brooke, Llanfair PG and Victoria Roberts, Llangoed will be travelling to London in April to take part in the Flora London Marathon. The girls are keen runners; both of them have successfully completed the Anglesey Half Marathon and numerous ‘race for life' events around the. However they both know that this will be their toughest challenge to date. The Girls are now running up to 30 Miles every week in order to build stamina for the gruelling 26 mile run.
“The thought of the sponsorship money I am raising is spurring me on.” said Diana “I am now really getting into my training schedule.
”Victoria said “I climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro a few years ago and the training I did for that climb has helped me get a mental idea of endurance, it has been hard but I am now really enjoying my daily running routine.”
Victoria is running for the charity Kids Kidney Research www.kidskidneyresearch.org which is one of the leading paediatric charities supporting kidney and urological research, helping to find cures and improve remedial care.
Diana is raising money for the British Forces Foundation www.bff.org.uk which aims to promote the Armed Forces through charitable means by supporting the well being and esprit de corps of all serving personnel through quality entertainment.
