Royal Anglesey Yacht Club awards long standing service

The Royal Anglesey Yacht Club recently held its Annual General Meeting. The meeting gets most of the members together to discuss the previous years activities and sailing matters and gives them a chance to plan for the forthcoming sailing season. The management team and Commodore for the coming year were elected by the year by the 60 members who attended.

At the end of the meeting Mr Mike Mothersole, Mrs Gwen Mothersole and Mr Andrew Dickie were all presented with gifts in recognition of their many years of outstanding service to the club. Mr and Mrs Mothersole have run the Wednesday sailing programme for over 10 years and Andrew Dickie is present at every race during the sailing season. Mike Mothersole a previous Commodore is the cornerstone of our Wednesday racing and Gwen his wife who always assists. Andrew Dickie, a new Vice President of the Fife Association, is responsible for getting our race control building ready for every race. He has done this since it was built over 10 years ago.

“The Royal Anglesey Yacht Club prides itself on the commitment it has from its members. All clubs rely on their volunteers to support their programmes. The Mothersoles and Andrew Dickie have volunteered and put so much time and effort into the sailing that the club would be lost without them. We wanted to honour Gwen, Mike and Andrew and thank them for all their hard work and the AGM gave us the prefect opportunity do to so.” Said the Commodore Mr Mike Butterfield.
